Alex has always enjoyed crocheting, and always had crafted and made things with her mom since she was child. The concept of Oddity came when she started making crochet goodies for friends and family for gifts every holiday season - remembering how much she loved the DIY Ebay scene while she was just starting college. Alex always wanted to create her crocheted accessories and goodies and sell them, but didn’t really know where to start.
once the concept of ownership came up, she decided she wanted to fuse a space where she and other local artists starting out could showcase their items with a salon space. A space where she could combine her love of hair with her love of crafts.
Allison Froio (“fro”) is an artist and musician from Seattle, Wa. Since drawing Pokemon as a child, she has always loved the aesthetics of classic video games and anime, and has recently returned to them as her main source of inspiration. Allison especially admires the graphic, stylized art and the positive, empowering messages of “Magical Girl” series such as Sailor Moon, and hopes to evoke some of that warmth and nostalgia in her work as well.
